The Gaza Genocide shows no signs of stopping. The US is pushing Israel to continue. Forget whatever the Empire of Lies spew. It’s all theatrics. Actions speak louder than words. Here, we will do a report on the global backlash Israel is undergoing. First, we visit Israel, and thereafter we will do a global round-up.
Within Israel
There are numerous reports of soldiers refusing to serve, deserting, including entire units and brigades. And, many have lost their minds.
With the mental health decline, more and more soldiers are refusing to return to the battlefield after being granted temporary leave, a trend that is challenging army operations, “As a psychiatrist, I wish I had a magic wand that could make this whole period disappear,” he said.
Around 30,000 Israeli soldiers have called up a mental health hotline since the outbreak of the Gaza Strip on 7 October, according to the army, Anadolu Agency reports. With such losses, the Israeli government is requesting an additional 14,500 people to join the military. There are few takers.
As a result of the loss of deterrence, the Israeli Conflict Zone Forum plans to announce the establishment of the “State of Galilee” and full separation from “Israel”.
During a meeting of “Israel’s” Conflict Zone Forum, the leaders of the Israeli northern settlements decided to announce the establishment of the State of Galilee and fully separate from “Israel”.
These thieves in the north are upset at their government who failed to protect them from “enjoying the fruits of their theft”. According to Israeli news website Walla!, the step is set to be announced on “Independence Day”. The media website explained that their decision was reached after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s dismissive response to Benny Gantz’s inquiry about settlers returning home for the school year, saying, “What would happen if they return a few months after September 1?”
This latest action follows the forum members’ publication of protest advertisements in early April, where they publicly solicited bids to “locate the Israeli government.”
As cited by Israeli media, the ads read, “A public tender to locate a government in Israel!” and “The Conflict Zone Forum hereby invites proposals to be submitted to an alternative government in Israel as detailed in the tender documents.”
Most significant was the ad which depicted the extent of the despair of Israeli settlers on the border with Lebanon that reads: “The full details of the tender can be found in the evacuated hotels and the accommodation apartments of the displaced throughout the country, with the business owners who collapsed in the north, in the dead tourism areas in the north, and in the offices of the authorities in the north.”
In parallel with these claims, settlers from abandoned settlements in northern occupied Palestine are planning demonstrations on May 16 in al-Quds and Haifa, advocating against a political agreement with Hezbollah and calling for security to be brought back to their region through military means. What these thieves don’t realize is that their honeymoon living off stolen land is now over- and for good. There is no way that things will ever go back to the pre-Oct 7 days. Hezbollah has stated this point in many statements. This comes in the context of the intensified and unprecedented operations carried out by the Lebanese Resistance in support of the Palestinian Resistance in the Gaza Strip.
Israeli military intelligence chief resignation will put peers on the spot
‘Domino effect’
The rats are deserting the sinking ship aka the Zionist Project
The recent wave of resignations by high-ranking Israeli officers has sparked speculation about the potential for an avalanche effect within various establishments.
In late April, Military intelligence chief Aharon Haliva has become the first senior Israeli official to resign over failures to prevent the October 7 attack by the Qassam Brigades and other Palestinian armed groups in southern Israel, a move expected to increase pressure on other top leaders to follow suit.
Israeli military and intelligence leaders had dismissed a 40-page document by a senior analyst outlining an assault that turned out to be strikingly similar to the one on October 7.
At the time, officials had decided that such an attack was beyond the armed group’s capabilities. The intelligence chief’s resignation has added to the pressure faced by a prime minister already accused of not doing enough to bring back the more than 100 captives in Gaza and of dragging the conflict out to save his political career. Halavi understood that Netanyahu was not going to end the war in the near future and that he was not interested in bringing the captives back to Israel. The question is now whether other members of the security and military establishment will follow in Halavi’s footsteps.
According to Alion Liel, former chief of the Israeli Foreign Ministry, should high-ranking officials such as the heads of the Shin Bet, the southern command forces and the Israeli army chief of staff resign, it would signal to the public that the time for an investigation has come. It would signal the same to politicians. “This is the beginning of a process – the first step of a long number of resignations needed,” said Liel.
Senior Israeli ‘National’ Security Council official Brig.-Gen Yoram Hamo has resigned from his position.
Hamo, who led the Division for Strategic “Defense” Policy and was said to be overseeing “Israel’s Gaza day-after strategy”, reportedly stepped down due to a lack of decision-making by the political leadership on the matter.
Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported last month that the resignation of the head of the Israeli Military Intelligence Directorate Aman, Aharon Haliva, and “will not be the last” among senior occupation officers as it mentioned a “domino effect.” It added that Haliva was the first member of the Israeli military General Staff to resign due to failures on October 7. The Israeli newspaper revealed that there are other senior officers, at least four of whom with colonel rank, at the level of commanders of field units, who informed their colleagues that they intend to resign. It added that the Gaza Division Commander, Brigadier General Avi Rosenfeld is one of them.
Another general from the General Staff, the head of the Strategy and Iran Divison, who led the Gaza Division and then took over the Southern Command, Eliezer Toledano, has not made any public appearance over the past six months, it said. The dilemma for possible future resignations is related to timing, as these resignations may hasten the end of the Israeli war on Gaza, especially amid the withdrawal of most IOF troops from Gaza in recent weeks. The resignation of Haliva and other senior officials puts Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi in a dilemma.
This is not an isolated incident. Moshik Aviv, the head of Israel’s ‘National’ Public Diplomacy Directorate in the Prime Minister’s Office, earlier informed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of his decision to resign. Aviv, who was appointed just eight months ago, will wait for a successor to be appointed before stepping down. His role is crucial in overseeing “Israel’s” public diplomacy efforts.
Galit Distel Atbaryan, the Public Diplomacy Minister, resigned from her position five days after October 7. Spokesperson Topaz Luk, the CEO of the Prime Minister’s Office Yossi Shelley, and Netanyahu’s chief of staff Tzachi Braverman are also expected to leave the office shortly. This all began with the resignation of the head of the Israeli Military Intelligence Directorate Aman, Aharon Haliva, on April 22.
The Economic Front
Israel is facing a tsunami of problems on the economic front. There are too many to list here. We will do a few.
McDonald’s buys all 225 of Israeli franchise restaurants after boycotts
McDonald’s has been subject to boycotts since franchisee Alonyal announced it would donate free meals to the Israeli military amid Gaza war. McDonald’s has said it will buy its 30-year-old Israel franchise from Alonyal, taking back ownership of 225 outlets that employ more than 5,000 people.
The US fast-food chain has been subject to boycotts and protests since Alonyal announced shortly after the October 7 attack by Palestinian group Hamas that it would be donating free meals to the Israeli military. Sales growth for the fast-food chain’s division for the Middle East, China and India during October-December was just 0.7 percent – far below market expectations of 5.5 percent.
The slump comes after customers in Muslim-majority countries called for a boycott of McDonald’s in response to Alonyal’s announcement, which led franchisees in countries including Egypt, Jordan and Saudi Arabia to distance themselves from the donations and collectively pledge millions of dollars in aid to Palestinians in Gaza. While Chicago-based McDonald’s is known as one of the United States’ most iconic brands, most of its restaurants worldwide are locally owned and operated.
Another major Western fast-food chain Starbucks has also seen boycott campaigns over its perceived pro-Israeli stance and alleged financial ties to Israel. In February Starbucks saw a “significant impact on traffic and sales” in the Middle East but also in the US, where protesters campaigned against the Seattle-based company, calling for it to take a stand against Israel.
Domino’s, a US-based pizza maker with franchises around the world, also faced blowback after posts on social media claimed without evidence that it had also given free food to Israeli soldiers. The brand’s same-store sales dipped by 8.9 percent in Asia in the second half of 2023, mainly because consumers in Malaysia associated it with the US, an Israeli ally, a company official said.
DRP largest hit to IMEC amid regional instability
The UAE signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Turkey, Iraq, and Qatar to fund IMEC’s rival, the Development Road Project (DRP). Contrary to IMEC, the project aims to develop historical trade routes, which are geographically feasible, to deliver East Asian products from Iraq, through the Gulf, to Turkey and later the European continent. The maritime blockades imposed by the Yemeni Armed Forces and the Islamic Resistance in Iraq in the Red Sea and the Mediterranean Sea on the Israeli regime have raised doubts about the viability of Israel as an efficient and reliable transportation hub.
The cost of the genocide in Palestine on Israel is now having strategic ramifications that undermine Israel’s future economic prospects. Israeli actions that have led to it being perceived as a “rogue state” by other countries and the instability surrounding it have “cast doubts” over the future of IMEC and propelled a feeling of a lack of confidence among governments.
The website also highlighted Lebanon’s proposal to replace the Israeli-occupied Haifa Port with its own Beirut Port. The developments on the DPR and Lebanon’s request prove that regional actors are preparing for a post-Israel Middle East in which Israel is no longer a major player.
Israeli attempts to turn Palestinian ports they occupy into the region’s transport hub have taken a hit as a result of their ongoing war on Gaza. The Israeli occupation is facing a maritime and land blockade, aiming to push it to stop its genocidal war, which has put its India Middle East Europe Economic Corridors project (IMEC) in danger. IMEC is an elaborate joint project pushed for by the Biden administration, which hopes to establish a trade route from the Indian Ocean toward the Gulf, crossing the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan, to later reach Israeli-occupied ports where goods would be loaded onto ships traveling to Europe.
Academic Boycotts
Israeli media reports indicate evidence of academic boycotts against Israeli researchers in foreign universities, amid growing concerns about international boycotts. Amid the protests at major universities in the US condemning Israeli aggression in Gaza, there are increasing estimates that “Israel” is facing an unprecedented academic boycott, while the occupation government is not taking action against it.
Israeli media highlighted that such boycotts could endanger Israeli academia and severely damage the economy.
According to Israeli Professor Manuel Trahtemberg, President of the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS) and former Chair of the Planning and Budgeting Committee of the Council for Higher Education, “International relations are the oxygen tube for academia, and academia is the oxygen tube for security and high-tech industries. If it is damaged, academia will suffer unprecedented damage, followed by the economy and security industries.”
The ICC/ICJ Matter & Why would Israel and its allies fear the ICC?
The ICC is a Rothschild construct. It was established by the family to go after African leaders who refuse to “follow orders” from London and Paris or, those African leaders who become “independent” and fight to gain economic and financial sovereignty. Most African states are in the family’s orbit, e.g., West Africa being in the French orbit, while East and South Africa are in the British orbit.
While the ICJ is a part of the UN (a Rockefeller entity), the ICC lacks the credibility, legality and enforcement protocols. The family forced most of its vassal nations (123 nations) to sign onto this, which became known as the Rome Convention. But, it is not recognized by the UN and many other countries. In short, it is a joke.
What is surprising is that why would the ICC indict a key servant (Netanyahu) of the boss (the Rothschilds). It doesn’t make sense, any way one would look at it. The International Criminal Court could end decades of impunity by indicting top Israeli security officials over the war in Gaza.
Yet a recent flurry of media reports out of Israel indicates that Israeli officials may be worried about the winds changing with the International Criminal Court (ICC) reportedly planning to charge top Israeli military and political figures with war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israeli media reports indicate that arrest warrants could be issued soon and that Israel has asked the US to pressure the court to not issue them. The ICC has spoken to medical staff in Gaza about possible war crimes, reviving discussion of possible warrants.
In March 2021, an ICC investigation of Israeli conduct in Gaza and the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem since 2014 was launched under former ICC Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda.
In November last year, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Comoros, Djibouti and South Africa referred Israel’s conduct to the court again, resulting in current Prosecutor Karim Khan announcing that the ongoing investigation had been expanded to include violence since Israel’s latest war in Gaza began in October.
A month later, on a visit to the West Bank and Israel, he said the court would investigate crimes by both Israel and Hamas on and since October 7. Why an investigation that has been under way for three years has caused such sudden concern within Israel has raised some questions.
Israel and the ICC
Israel is not a signatory to the Rome Statute, the treaty that established the ICC, and, as such, does not recognize its authority, and neither does the US.
Normally, that would mean the court could not investigate Israel; however, its jurisdiction extends to crimes committed by a member state or on the territory of one of its member states, of which Palestine is one, having joined by request of the Palestinian Authority in 2015.
As such, the court has the power to investigate grave crimes and issue arrest warrants against anyone – including Israeli soldiers and officials – implicated in perpetrating atrocities in the West Bank or Gaza.
According to Israeli news outlets, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defence Minister Yoav Gallant and army Chief Herzi Halevi could all be hit with arrest warrants in the coming days and months, which could significantly impact their political and military careers.
Legal experts believe that any indictments would be related to Israel’s policy of weaponising food to starve civilians in Gaza and Hamas’s decision to take Israelis captive during their surprise attacks on October 7.
These two charges are the easiest to trace up to the senior leadership of both parties.
Israel has since faced accusations of genocide at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), the highest United Nations court, which, like the ICC, is based in The Hague. Of the three people seen as potential subjects for ICC arrest warrants, Netanyahu would face the largest dilemma. He is already fighting for his political survival as he stands trial on corruption charges and for the security failures that allowed the October 7 attacks. As head of state, he could be barred from visiting the European Union, where all member states are theoretically required to arrest him as part of their obligations under the Rome Statute. There are 120 members of the ICC who in principle would be obligated to arrest them if they stepped foot in those countries, and there is an argument that any country – even if they are not party to the court – could arrest them.
ICC arrest warrants against Israeli officials could have stark implications for Israel’s European allies, who would be forced to balance their exceptional relationship with Israel with their ostensible support of the international rights-based order. European countries supported the ICC arrest warrant against [Russian President] Vladimir Putin [for atrocities in Ukraine], so how can they come out and suddenly oppose or criticize an ICC indictment on Israeli officials?
Netanyahu is reportedly reaching wildly out to his many “friends” to prevent such a development. And, in line with Washington-Jerusalem thinking that every good crisis deserves an excessive use of force or even a military solution, there are already reports that pressure, including threats, is being exerted both by Israel and the US against the jurists on the court and even directed against their families. The Israeli government warned the Biden administration that if the ICC issues arrest warrants against Israeli leaders, it will take retaliatory steps against the Palestinian Authority that could lead to its collapse, further destabilizing the region. Israel is also conducting a parallel diplomatic channels outreach in Europe to convince the local governments to advise their representatives on the court that it would be desirable to squash its investigation.
As ICC deliberations are secret it would appear that an American or British jurist must have leaked the story to enable Netanyahu to mount a campaign against it. The White House and Congress are already moving full speed ahead to make the warrants go away and are exploring options to directly confront and discredit the court if the Israelis are actually punished.
The US has nothing to gain and much to lose in confronting the ICC as the court is generally well respected. And more might be coming. If they shield Israel from international accountability yet again, then it will further underscore – in the eyes of many other countries in the Global South – which the West is engaged in this obvious game of double standards, and that will undermine … the international legal order.
Most certainly, Israel’s parents Britain (the father) and France (the mother) and other allies of Israel allies who also have commitments to the ICC, such as the vassal states in the Rothschild orbit, may refuse to arrest indicted Israeli leaders who visit their countries. Such a move would be damaging to the global credibility of the court, but it would not be unprecedented. In 2009, the ICC indicted Omar al-Bashir, Sudan’s former president, for war crimes, but African states refused to comply with the ICC’s arrest warrant.
At the time, European leaders and rights groups criticized African states for their failure to uphold their commitments under the Rome Statute as most Global South leaders are keenly aware of the double standards. However, Europe could deal the court a death blow if it refuses to comply with any ICC arrest orders against Israeli officials. That could set a precedent under which signatories of the Rome Statute simply dismiss the ICC’s arrest orders or withdraw from the court.
If all of a sudden when the chips are down, Israel just gets a pass, then that would be the last nail in the coffin. It would create a massive legitimacy crisis for the ICC. There is a political cost for Europe to continue to act in hypocritical ways. With regard to the decisions made at the ICJ, we must commend the leadership of South Africa. It has taken great courage for SA President Ramaphosa to make this charge against Israel knowing full well that both South Africa and he are vassals and puppets of the owners of Israel-the Rothschild family. Notwithstanding this, South Africa “broke the ice”, and led the way for other nations to join South Africa at the ICJ, with charging Israel for genocide. It is on the record.
The Congress Zionist Mafia
The Republican Party is seeking to outdo the White House in demonstrating its love for Israel. A letter signed by twelve GOP Senators was sent to Karim Khan, chief prosecutor on the ICC. The letter threatens members of the court over the possible indictment of Netanyahu and company. The group of 12 Republican senators who I like to refer to as the “Dirty Dozen” due to the large political contributions they receive from pro-Israel sources, sent a letter to the chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) Karim Khan that threatens “severe sanctions” if the court goes ahead with the plan to issue arrest warrants for Netanyahu, his Defense Minister and one other senior official.
The letter, dated April 24, referenced the American Service-Members’ Protection Act, a law that authorizes the president to use any means to free any US personnel detained by the ICC even though it does not apply to Israel. It says, ridiculously, that “If you issue a warrant for the arrest of the Israeli, we will interpret this not only as a threat to Israel’s sovereignty but as a threat to the sovereignty of the United States” and goes on to deny that the ICC even has jurisdiction to issue warrants since Israel is not a member of the court. The apparent drafter, Senator Tom Cotton, was seemingly unaware that Palestine is a member of the ICC and the arrest warrants would be based on war crimes committed by Israel on its nominal territory, Gaza and the West Bank. The letter concludes with a heavy-handed threat: “The United States will not tolerate politicized attacks by the ICC on our allies. Target Israel and we will target you. If you move forward with the measures indicated in this report, we will move to end all American support for the ICC, sanction your employees and your associates, and bar you and your family from the United States. You have been warned.” A few days later, the ICC issued a statement condemning the threats made against the court and said attempts to “impede, intimidate, or improperly influence” ICC officials must “cease immediately.”
Diplomatic & Trade Cut-Off
The Israel–Hamas war sparked a major diplomatic crisis, with many countries around the world reacting strongly to the conflict that affected the momentum of regional relations. At least nine countries , including Jordan, Bahrain, Turkey, Colombia, Honduras, Chile, Belize, South Africa and Chad, have recalled their ambassadors to Israel or severed ties altogether. The measures were taken in response to Israel’s conflict with Hamas, citing humanitarian concerns about the escalating conflict.
Colombia has announced that it is cutting ties with Israel over the Gaza war.The country’s president Gustavo Petro has denounced Israel’s actions as ‘genocide’ and said his government would end diplomatic relations. The country’s president Gustavo Petro has denounced Israel’s actions as ‘genocide’ and said his government would end diplomatic relations. Countries cannot be passive in the face of events in Gaza, he added. Like Colombia, Turkey too has asked to join South Africa’s case against Israel at the ICC.
Turkey has paused all trade with Israel. Ankara said it was doing so until Israel allows ‘uninterrupted and sufficient flow’ of humanitarian aid into Gaza.
But which nations have broken off relations with Israel? And what impact will it have?
Bolivia
Bolivia in October said it had broken diplomatic ties with Israel because of its attacks on the Gaza Strip. Bolivia previously cut diplomatic ties with Israel in 2009 under the government of leftist President Evo Morales, also in protest against Israel’s actions in Gaza. In 2020, the government of right-wing interim president Jeanine Anez reestablished ties.
Belize
Belize in November called for an ‘immediate ceasefire’ while announcing it was suspending diplomatic ties. Belize also withdrawing the appointment of its Honorary Consul in Tel Aviv and cancelled the accreditation for Israel’s ambassador. It said all activities of Israel’s Honorary Consulate in Belize have been suspended. They further accused Israel of violating international humanitarian law.
Saudi Arabia Pauses Ties
Saudi Arabia in November put US-backed plans with Israel on ice. There would be a delay in the US-backed talks on normalization with Israel that was a key step for the kingdom to secure what Riyadh considers the real prize of a US defense pact in exchange.
Until Iran-backed Hamas sparked a war on 7 October by launching a devastating attack on Israel, both Israeli and Saudi leaders had been saying they were moving steadily towards a deal that could have reshaped the Middle East. Saudi Arabia in November put US-backed plans to normalize ties with Israel on ice. The Kingdom in February told the United States it will not open diplomatic relations with Israel unless an independent Palestinian state is recognized on 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The Kingdom in February told the United States it will not open diplomatic relations with Israel unless an Riyadh reiterated its call for permanent members of the UN Security Council that have not recognized a Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital to do so. The western media and political class keeps on pushing the narrative that Saudi is “on the verge” of normalizing ties with Israel. This is wishful thinking on the part of these clowns. Normalization is dead.
Other nations withdraw diplomats, recall ambassadors
A slew of other nations have withdrawn diplomats and recalled ambassadors.
These include South Africa, Bahrain, Chile, Honduras, Chad and Jordan.
South Africa had withdrawn all its diplomats in Tel Aviv over its “disappointment by the refusal of the Israeli government to respect international law and the United Nations resolutions with impunity.”
South African president Cyril Ramaphosa’s government withdrew all its diplomats in Tel Aviv over its ‘disappointment by the refusal of the Israeli government to respect international law and the United Nations resolutions.’ “These Hamas attacks are without justification, they deserve global condemnation, but the response by Benjamin Netanyahu’s government also deserves our clearest condemnation,” he told reporters after his meeting with Biden at the White House.
“There’s no doubt we can say the response has been disproportionate and is violating international humanitarian law,” he said. “The right of a state to defend itself has limits, and those limits imply respecting the lives of innocent civilians, especially children, and respecting civil humanitarian law.”
Honduras in November recalled its ambassador to Israel over the “grave humanitarian situation” for Palestinian civilians in Gaza.
Chad in November recalled its chargé d’affaires to Israel.
Jordan in November had recalled its ambassador to Israel.
Bahrain in November said its Israel had returned home.
Israel, despite being a member of the UN, does not have bilateral relations with all 193 members.
But arguably the biggest impact on Israel could be with regard to the Abraham Accords – and any possible dealings with Saudi Arabia. Israel had been hoping the accords would eventually pave the way for a normalization deal with Saudi Arabia, an oil and Muslim power which has vast influence across the West Asia. But the Israel-Hamas war has dealt a blow to its plans.
Arms Embargo
Canada becomes the latest country to halt arms sales to Israel, as global calls for other countries to follow suit grow. Canada joins the Netherlands, Japan, Spain and Belgium in suspending arms sales in the wake of Israel’s brutal military offensive in Gaza. Many other nations have said they will no longer purchase Israeli weapons.
But several Western countries have continued to supply lethal weapons to Israel despite the enormous human toll and an imminent famine. Even before the start of the war last October, the US firmly supported Israel with the supply of military equipment, contributing $4bn annually in military aid. Many other countries provide military support to Israel via arms sales. The rising death toll is prompting international condemnation from humanitarian and civil society groups in the form of statements, protests and lawsuits filed against countries alleged to be providing military support to Israel. Some countries are responding to this pressure. Around 68 percent of Israel’s weapons imports between 2013 and 2022 came from the US. The US military also stockpiles weapons on the ground in Israel, presumably for use by the US army itself. However, the US has allowed Israel to make use of some of these supplies during the Gaza war.
Besides the US, Israel also receives military imports from other nations.
Weapons imported from Germany make up 28 percent of Israel’s military imports. Germany’s military exports rose nearly tenfold in 2023 compared with 2022 after it increased sales to Israel in November.
The United Kingdom has licensed at least $600 m in military exports to Israel since 2015. These exports included aircraft, missiles, tanks, technology and ammunition, including components for the F-35 stealth bomber used in Gaza.
In the Netherlands, a court on Monday gave the government one week to block all exports of parts for the F-35 fighter jet, which Israel is using to bomb the Gaza Strip.
In Belgium, a regional government said it suspended two licences for the export of gunpowder to Israel on February 6.
Japan-based company Itochu Corporation announced on February 5 that it will end its partnership with Israeli weapons manufacturer Elbit Systems by the end of February.
Spain’s foreign minister said in January the country has not sold any arms to Israel since the start of the war and that there is now an embargo on weapon sales.
The UN
By now, my readers know that the UN is a multi-lateral entity very firmly in the Rockefeller orbit. A key point to note about this genocide in Gaza is that the Rockefeller family is the one pushing for this. The aim is a “gas heist and consolidation” deal for the large gas fields off-shore Gaza.
With this information in mind, don’t expect the UN to do anything to stop this war. Part of this is to provide political cover for Israel by exercising its veto in the Security Council. So, in short, the UN has proven to be useless, like always. It serves to advance the geopolitical agenda of its true owners, David Rockefeller jnr, and his empire.
The UN Votes to Admit Palestine
In a clear rejection of US policies and leadership in the Middle East, the UN general assembly voted overwhelmingly to back the Palestinian bid for full UN membership. The western media have mostly ignored Friday’s balloting since the widely-anticipated results represent another black eye for Washington. But the outcome of the vote is a blow to the Biden administration’s failed Gaza policy as well as a clear indication that America’s blanket support for Israel’s genocide is increasing Washington’s isolation and irrelevance. The assembly vote was 143 to 9, which means that US diplomatic influence has eroded to the point where the White House could barely coerce 9 of their most-loyal vassal states to reject the motion. It is imperative that people fully grasp the meaning of this vote, which suggests that the so-called “Rules-Based Order” is a withering fraud that grows more anemic by the day. Additionally, the vote provides compelling evidence that the American Century is officially over and that the vast majority of the world’s nations are no longer willing to comply with Washington’s self-serving edicts.
Israel is of course fuming.
Naturally, Israel’s envoy to the UN, Gilad Erdan, used the opportunity—not to express his remorse at being a participant in his nation’s sadistic rampage in Gaza—but to scold the other members of the assembly for acting courageously on a matter of principle. Without a trace of irony, Erdan accused the other members of “shredding the UN charter with your own hands. Yes, yes, that’s what you’re doing. Shredding the UN charter.”
What Erdan failed to mention is that Israel holds the world’s record for breaking UN resolutions and has yet to encounter an international law that it won’t break with impunity. Israel decided long-ago that its future depended on its ability to use the world’s biggest bully as its personal bodyguard thus allowing it to ignore any legal or moral restraints on its behavior
Friday’s resolution …. does not make Palestine a full member, or give it voting rights in the assembly, or the right to stand for membership of the security council, but the vote was a resounding expression of world opinion in favor of Palestinian statehood, galvanized by the continuing bloodshed and famine caused by Israel’s war in Gaza.
Try to appreciate how hypocritical and morally bankrupt the US position really is. For the last 57 years, Republicans and Democrats alike have paid lip-service to a two-state solution based on UN Resolution 242 which requires Israel to remove its settlements from Palestinian land in occupied Gaza and the West Bank. “Get off Palestinian land and there will be peace.” That is US policy which is backed-up by international law. The reason Biden is now commonly referred to as “Genocide Joe” is because he is unilaterally breaking international law by providing material support to Israeli barbarism which makes him—and the United States—equally culpable in the premeditated annihilation of the Palestinian people. …the resolution also makes plain that “the state of Palestine, in its capacity as an observer state, does not have the right to vote in the general assembly or to put forward its candidature to United Nations organs.”
…. “In essence, it gives the Palestinians the airs and graces of a UN member, but without the fundamental attributes of a real member, which are voting power and the right to run for the Security Council.”….
In Europe, Spain and Ireland are the latest countries which are set to bestow recognition on a Palestinian state in a controversial move. The US has very consistently voted no when such efforts are presented at the UN and at the Security Council.
The other countries that opposed Palestine’s bid for membership were Micronesia, Argentina, Hungary, Nauru, Palau, Papua New Guinea and Israel. The list helps to illustrate the ineffectiveness of US diplomacy which has virtually collapsed.
Global Citizens Protests – Israel losing global support, says Hamas leader
Across the Western world, public opinion on Palestine is finally shifting. The brutality of Israel’s war on Gaza has put an end to the apathy towards the suffering of the Palestinian people in the West.
For a very long time, many in the Western world have not engaged at all with the issues stemming from the occupation of Palestine. The occupation was in the news, every year or so, for a day or two, and then it would go again. It was too “complicated”; those who knew about the context – on either side – were too passionate. So many have opted to remain neutral. Many more believed the smears against the Palestinian people.
However, the scale and severity of brutality that has defined the past seven months of conflict has put an end to the widespread apathy towards the suffering of the Palestinian people. The wall-to-wall media coverage, thanks to fearless reporting from Al Jazeera and Palestinian journalists on the ground, has opened people’s eyes to the reality people in Gaza, and the rest of Palestine, have had to endure for generations. At Action For Humanity, one of the leading NGOs working in Gaza and influencing policymakers in the United Kingdom, have commissioned polling and found that 56 percent of the UK are now in favor of halting arms exports to Israel. Only 17 percent are against and the rest are unsure.
This is huge. We have seen the polling results by the public on conflicts like Syria and Yemen for years and never have the UK public not just been so aware of a conflict, but also feel so passionately about it.
And it’s worth noting this survey was conducted before the April 1 killing of World Central Kitchen aid workers – an atrocity which has horrified the world. We now anticipate, due to the widespread condemnation of this event, that the number of people who realize what horrors are being committed and want no part of it, is higher.
And this is a pattern we are seeing all across the Western world. In the United States, the biggest backer of Israel on the global stage, it is not just the administration in the White House that is struggling to attempt to justify the accelerating civilian death toll, the public too are showing disapproval. We believe that this is the case across the West and now that the overwhelming majority of the Western public are becoming more and more aware of the crimes against humanity that are being committed in Gaza, the West Bank and Jerusalem, the more people are completely appalled. And even those who once felt the huge civilian death toll in Gaza were justified and realizing in increasing numbers that nothing on this earth can justify what is happening. However, sadly, the politicians of Western governments are completely out of step with their public’s mood. Not only is this morally reprehensible, but it is politically shortsighted.
The year 2024 has been called “the year of elections”, with at least 49 percent of the world voting at some point this year, politicians who do not realize their publics want them to stop facilitating and supporting human rights abuses in Gaza, face electoral defeat – even if they refuse to face their conscience. For decades, Western states were able to support abuses against Palestinians with impunity due to public ignorance on the issue – due to people not paying attention to what’s happening, and buying into lies. This is now over, and the horrific way Israel conducted its war on Gaza is the reason why. Humanity, in all its forms, everywhere, is fundamentally good. Most humans, at their core, believe in peace and justice. They know that murdering innocents is wrong.
